A Reason to Celebrate (And prizes too!)

Yesterday I mentioned that I had almost 200 followers, and now I have exceeded that. (210 as of this writing!) Add in the fact that I finished my novel (and will soon be finished typing the novel), and I think it's time for a party! So come on in. Enjoy some virtual summer treats. Don't those look delish? I prefer the cherry limeade flavor. Mmmmm.

Now for a party game. (I totally stole this from Shallee McArthur. Go check out her blog too.) Here are some titles based on Facebook security phrases:

The Tipsier
Easel Insurers
Had Virtues
Persons Patching
Bill Poises

Make up a short pitch for a book based on one of these titles. Leave it in the comments if you like. (This is totally just for fun, not mandatory or anything.)

Now on to the prizes!

First of all for being my 200th follower, Melissa at Through the Looking Glass wins a chapter/short story critique from me! Congrats, Melissa and thanks for pushing me over the top. Email your chapter or story to angloft-at-gmail-dot-com in doc or rtf format, and I'll get right to it.

Now for some more lucky winners I have the following totally cool prizes:

Prize #1--Science Fiction/Fantasy Reading Pleasure Package

A copy of Mindflights Issue #5, which contains my novella, "The Bearer's Oath," and Unparalleled Journeys which contains my story, "Fidelity." Both of these contain many other great stories for your reading pleasure.

Prize #2--Christmas in July

A copy of Stolen Christmas and Other Stories of the Season, which contains my award-winning story, "Shepherds and Kings," plus a bag of my homemade English toffee, one of my favorite Christmas treats. Get a little Christmas spirit in the heat!

Prize #3--Manuscript Therapy

A critique of the first 50 pages of your manuscript from a published author and editor of a spec-fic magazine. (Um, that's me.)

To enter the giveaway, be or become a follower and leave a comment here. That's it. If you want to include your pitch from the party game above, cool. If not, that's fine. Make sure I have an email address or some other way to contact you, and if you have a preference in prizes, tell me that too. You're not required to promote the giveaway for me, but if you want to, it would be appreciated. The contest will run through June 30, and I'll pick three winners at random on July 1.

So, thanks for stopping by. Thanks for following the blog! While you're here, be sure to check out the sidebar for links to my published stories or for the latest features at Mindflights.

Thanks for partying with me!

Happy Followers Celebration! Lovely party you're throwing and a fun title/pitch game. :D

PERSONS PATCHING pitch.
Sulandra has been patching folks to other dimensions for more than a decade but there's a glitch that's redirecting her patches to a dimension no one knew existed.

Thank you, kbrebes. I appreciate that. Welcome to everyone! I so appreciate you stopping by. Hope you had fun. =) The book pitches are wonderful, you guys. LOL

You have 217 at my posting! WOOT!
(I know you said pick one but I havta try all of them together).

Bill Poises has a problem. As an Easel Insurer he has always been the person patching up artwork. But when his bank account starts running in the red, he becomes The Tipsier. The person who will tip over the easel, breaking it and taking a piece of the insurance money.
But Bill has had virtues and when he meets the woman of his dreams and she actually is falling for him, he has to decide between black and red, love or money.

What a great party you throw! I brought some chips and salsa to share, hope you don't mind!

Hooray! What an awesome party, my friend. :o) And congrats on the followers... they will fall in love with this site, I'm sure, as have I!

Here are my contributions (Yeah, sorry. I had so much fun with the writing prompts that I made two.)

Bill Poises

Downward Dog. Plank Pose. Salutation to the Sun. Bill Trudy was finding out the hard way it took more than awkward dinner dates to win the love of Celeste Reilly. But when Celeste asks him to accompany her to an ashram across the sea, he only has two choices: keep up the charade that he’s a man with a mad-passion for yoga or a beast just out to see her in spandex.

HAD VIRTUE

All fifteen year old Sarah Baker wanted was to love and be loved. Too bad she put all her faith in the team captain of the wrestling team, a live-in aunt with an obsession for costume jewelry, and a mother who hadn’t left her mobile home in four years. Finding herself pregnant and disowned on the same day only adds to the wound. That is until an off-hand comment from a social worker sets Sarah on a quest to find that one, true family who will love her no matter what. Her and her baby. The only trick is to make it across the country without popping that baby out on the side of the road.

Easel Insurers:

When Bill and Irene opened an art store, they had no clue what they were in for, especially when their biggest art client, Art Vandelay, is found dead amongst the easels. Can they solve his murder, clear their names, and insure they aren't next?

Fun game! *grins*

Game--Easel Insurers

Tristan believed in his enterprise. He believed that artists would see the value of insuring their easels and he would be well on his way to a fortune.

Little did he know that Zock, a wicked artist aspiring to become the next Picaso, would thwart his plans. Zock wanted every painting, that had the potential to destroy his dream, destroyed.

Join Tristan as he fights for not just his livlihood but his life. Because Zock will stop at nothing to get what he wants, even if it means killing anyone who gets in his way.
