Oh, I know. I'll have a blog giveaway! If I get one dozen comments on this post. I'll hold a drawing for one dozen of my homemade chocolate chip cookies. (Disclaimer: You probably won't get this prize until after Christmas.) How does that sound? Go ahead, comment away! Read the story and let me know what you think, or comment here about anything you like.
It's a happy day for me!

Congratulations!! Angie, you're doing an excellent job. I'm very, very happy for you!
YEA!!! Congratulations on one dozen! That is such a wonderful accomplishment! Highway songs is such a great story! I remember reading it the first time in awe of your awesome writing skills! Congrats on getting it published! Here's looking forward to your next dozen!
Congrats on your new story being published! It is a beautiful story and has elements of sci fi and exotic references of other cultures!
That's so awesome, Angie!! What an accomplishment. Congrats!
Congratulations, Angie! Keep up the good work.
That was a GREAT story Angie! I've always loved and been fascinated by native american stories, so I found your ideas so interesting! Great job!
And congrats on the dozen stories, too! That's so cool!

Congrats, Angie! That's definitely cause for celebration!
I enjoyed your story. May you write many more.
Congrats! That is so exciting! What a nice early Christmas present for you. :)
Btw, I nominated you for the Honest Scrap Award. You can check it out over at my blog if you'd like: http://lisezvous.blogspot.com/2009/12/honest-scrap-award.html
I really liked that Angie, great imagery.
Congratulations, Angie. I was taken in by your story, and couldn't read it fast enough to find out what happened next. This summer our family visited a solar calendar sight in Northern Az called the Casa Malpais Ruins. The petroglyphs are lit up through holes in the walls at the time of solstices. Pretty awesome. Our whole family enjoyed it. Fascinating subject matter. I love the Sci Fi and Native American references. Bravo!
I don't think you'd want to send a dozen cookies my way with as long and unreliable as State's pouching system is... ;)
I like the dozen roses idea, though I'd want a dozen assorted flowers because I love color!
Congratulations again!
Congrats! One dozen is a good number. In short stories, roses, donuts, and cookies.
I wants them cookies!
And in honor of Cookie Monster Day (a few weeks back, his 40th anniversary of appearing on Seseme Street), Mah rowo smroosal!
Congrats, Angie! That is amazing! One dozen published stories?? You deserve a dozen of anything you want.
Huge congratulations to you! I enjoyed your story, I liked the suspense element at the onset, and your knowledge of Native American culture really shines. Nicely done :)
Thank you everyone for your comments and kind words. It means a lot to me. I'm so happy I got more than a dozen! Now I can give away cookies! I'll draw the lucky winner tomorrow.
A DOZEN! Way to keep up the cycle of writing fantastic stories!
WOW! Congratulations, Angie. I really enjoyed that story. You are an awesome writer. Your stories never fail to touch me.
Angie, I have to ask your advice on something. I just entered a contest (my first time for doing something like this and I'm SO nervous) and I would like my friends to go vote, but what's the right thing to do?
None of the stories have people's names on them, so do I tell them which one I wrote or not? The contest has been going on for a while and it ends 31 Dec 2009, so some of the stories already have up to 27 or 28 votes already because they entered early (and they are good, too, of course). I don't want people to vote for me unless they really think my story is better than the others. It's only a flash fiction Christmas story of 250 words, but I think I did alright.
Please get back to me, OK?
