Anyway, I thought I'd share the books we got this Christmas, in case your looking for some good reading.
I got Blood Sword by Terry W. Ervin II and Become by Ali Cross.
My husband got Psion Gamma by Jacob Gowen and The Death Cure by James Dashner.
Son #1 (age 18) got The Missionary Reference Library. (He'll be going on a mission for the LDS church soon, so he needs those.)
Son #2 (age 16) got Variant by Robison Wells.
Son #3 (age 13) got Inheritance by Christopher Paolini. (I admit, I probably won't read that one.)
Son #4 (age 11) got Guardians of the Hidden Scepter by Frank L. Cole
Daughter (age 7) got Silverlicious by Victoria Kann
Son #5 (age 4) got Pirates Don't Change Diapers by Melinda Long, Illustrated by David Shannon.
We also got Teachings of President Thomas S. Monson and a Christmas storybook, The Little Christmas Tree, from family.
I can't wait to read these!
How about you? Did you get any good books for Christmas?

I wish I could say the same of my family, but books never appear on the wish-lists of my boys. They obviously inherited all the wrong genes. *glares at husband* But I love books, and I get a little stack twice each year, one for Christmas and one for my birthday.
For this Christmas, I got The Alloy of Law by Brandon Sanderson, All Clear, by Connie Willis, Cryoburn, by Lois McMaster Bujold, The Iron Jackal by Chris Wooding, and The Doomsday Vault by Stephen Harper.
I received a Nook (Simple Touch) for Christmas, so went out and picked a few books up... ;-)
I don't read as fast as I'd like to, nor as much either.
Hope you enjoy Blood Sword! I look forward to your thoughts!
I got Inheritance and two references books - one on vampires, the other on werewolves.
I love the sound of the last pirate one! Hehehe! Strangely, I didn't get any books for Christmas, but I did get a B&N gift card. I'll be getting the new Stephen King book with it.
James got the "Last Apprentice" series. I actually didn't get books this year. Weird huh? lol
Hey, I have Ali's book!!
Didn't get any for Christmas, but that's because I have so many still waiting on my iPad.
Melanie--I want to get the Alloy of Law too. Soon, I hope. I love, love, love All Clear. Hope you enjoy the rest too!
Todd, hope you enjoy your Nook!
Terry, I'm excited to read it!
Christine, B&N gift cards are always awesome. Hope you enjoy your new book, too.
Oh yes! I got a bunch of books fro Christmas: Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor, Meant to Be by Tiffant King, and the Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson.
can't wait to dig in, but I have to finish the ones I'm reading right now!
I'm a slow reader as well.
Books make the best gifts, if you ask me. I gave and received books this year. I gave a book on bugs to my 2 yo nephew, two emerging reader books to my 5yo nephew, Princess of the Midnight Ball by Jessica Day George to my sister-in-law, and the last Fablehaven book to my brother.
As for what I got, between my birthday (six days before Christmas) and Christmas I received Dragon Slippers by Jessica Day George, Jane by April Lindner, Cloaked by Alex Flinn, Fallen by Lauren Kate, Skyship Academy: The Pearl Wars by Nick James, Silence by Becca Fitzpatrick, Mastiff by Tamora Pierce, and Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan.
What can I say, I love books. I'm currently reading Son of Neptune and hope to read at least one more book before the end of the year. (If I can tear myself away from the electronic gadgets long enough. Which shouldn't be a problem as I had no issues doing so for several hours today.)
I will admit, I probably won't be buying the last Inheritance book. I re-read Eragon and could hardly stomach the choppiness. I never did read the third one, though I do own it, and, well, it's just not a priority. My brother keeps trying to get me to read Brandon Sanderson's books. In fact, he got the Mistborn trilogy for Christmas. (I think that's the one.) But then he has been a huge fan of Robert Jordan for a long while so he may be a little biased.
Awesome books! I just read Become, and thought it was really good. I'll be posting gingerbread house pics today and getting to our Christmas books on New Year's Eve - celebrating books past, and looking forward to books to come.
Aubrie, sounds like a great list. Hope you enjoy.
Tyrean, I'm glad to hear you liked Become. I thought your gingerbread treehouse was darling!
wow tons of reading will be done in your house im excited i got the chronicals of narnia cant wait to read them
okay... I know I'm commenting on the children's book first - but Pirates Don't Change Diapers is hilarious!! Seriously!
And I didn't know the new Maze Runner was out!!!! **runs off to fire up the Nook**
Thanks, Tiff. Hope you enjoy Narnia! Lindsay, hope you like The Death Cure. Love you guys!
I got Maze Runner (I've not heard anything about it) and The Help. John got The Law of Alloy and The Way of Kings. Meg got The Name of the Wind. Aud got Crossed.
Those all sound good! I think you'll enjoy Maze Runner. Thanks for stopping by, Shadetiger
What a great list of books-to-read your family ended up with. Lots of swapping and exchanging and you'll all be reading for a good long while. Books are the ultimate Christmas gift, in my not so humble opinion.
Hope you have a wonderful New Year!
Those are some wonderful books to dig your teeth into. I hope you enjoy them.
Have a wonderful 2012!
Thanks, Dellgirl! Happy New Year to you to you too!
