Summertime...And the Bloggin' is Easy

My brain feels like that picture up there. I'll call it summer brain. It's a good thing, really. It's just I can't think up anything interesting to post about.

I have written 35 pages of my new novel. Not bad. I have also been taking kids swimming and to the library and out for picnics. Hopefully, we'll get some camping in soon. I love the lazy feel of summer, the lack of schedule, the freedom to play.

What have you been up to this summer? Anything fun? How's your writing going? Anything else you want to share?

My summer is one of intentionality. I am going after my long ignored dream of writing for a living. I currently have about 6 query letters and story proposals "out there" and I am going to work in my writing room for a certain number of hours each day. This is a huge switch from the writing when I'm in the mood method that I've done all my life.

I love your blog because it is so inspiring! Thanx for all the wonderful advice and encouragement you pour out from here.

My second blog is one of my moves towards writing a book, recoveringchurchlady.com.

My summer has been both lazy and busy. We've been doing big house projects, and then having PJs-all-day days too. It's been a great, balanced summer!! :)

Sounds like a great summer so far. :)

We're doing a lot of relaxation and fun around here too. I've also been writing up a storm, and am nearly 60,000 words into my newest novel in just over a month! And I'm loving it.

Keep going on the novel, Angie. I'm getting some of mine done...2000 words yesterday, which is about 3x my normal.

Mini trips with the girls while I'm off for the summer, but we have a trip to Florida planned.

Have fun while making good memories.

It sounds like you're having a good summer! :)

I met a writing goal for June today (close to the deadline, but oh well) so I'm happy about that.

Just a bunch of editing so far, along with short story submissions. Hoping to close up my latest edits this coming month, and then it's off to even more Aston novels...

My writing is going better now than it has been in the recent past, thankfully. And we've been having fun without a lot of schedules too - bike rides to the bird sanctuary, trips to the library, long drives through the mountains, etc. Have a good week, Angie. :)

For us, summer will officially start this afternoon, after my son's last day at school. We don't really have anything fun planned, though, except perhaps a visit to an amusement park here or there. Last year we travelled, and we probably will do so again next year, but this summer, we're staying home and (hopefully) saving money.

Tiff, hope you've seen some good movies. And dealing with boys??? Love you!

Terry, Hooray for working on your novel! I hope you and your girls have a great time in Florida. I love building those fun memories too.

Todd, editing is good. Yeah for more Aston novels!

Melanie, wow. They stay in school late over there, huh? I hope you have a great summer. We have lots of fun without any plans in particular.

Thanks for stopping by, everyone!

Hi Angie - Well, I would say you have something to post about if you have 35 pages done! Great Job! I am taking going to be away from my blog for the week to do some serious work on my W.I.P. Hope you have a great productive week with some fun added in. - Maeve

I wish my summer could be relaxing. Between my job, my struggling garden (I think I have a black thumb!), and family fun - I seem to have less time to write.

Hi, Krista. Thanks for stopping by and following the blog. Hope you enjoy it here. I know how it feels to have to spend less time writing sometimes. It's all a balancing act. Good luck with everything!
